Statement of
The First International Conference on Public Relations in Iran

Public
Relations, as the main people-government relation chain, shoulder an
important responsibility in the process for the managers’ access to the
public opinion and free circulation of information and communication,
fulfillment of asking and answering principle, and promoting the culture
of supervising the statesmen and executive institutions performances by
the public. Undoubtedly, society will enter the development phase when
human respect and dignity is observed better than the past; governments
be responsible before the public and the public before the governments;
the way is paved for the charitably and responsively questions and
criticism; the public participation in the process for development be
fulfilled and public relations is set through law and regulations with
ethics. So, it is necessary for public relations to be present
continuously through the time in reeducation, reconstruction and
coordinating itself with continuous social and professional changes
during the time so that not to be separated from the other social
sections and evolutions general body. Not only, should Public Relations
be affected by its age evolutions, but the necessity invokes it to play
role as an effective factor in the process of continuous reforms and
social positive changes.
It is the honor and grateful that after 55 years of PR establishment in
Iran and at the threshold of 20th anniversary of Islamic Revolution
victory of Iranian people, we have the chance to hold the 1st
International Conference on Public Relations in Iran as an important
event and tuning point in the history of Iran Public Relations with the
Message of Iran President and participation of Public Relations Society
and high ranking Iranian and international scholars. It is necessary
that the following issues to be noted as the requests of Iran Public
Relations Society in holding this scientific important event and we
surely believe that through cooperation by those who know Public
Relations as duty, we can reach all of the following issues:
1-
Preparation of Iran Public Relations Society Code of Ethics;
2-Commitments by the Executive organizations and the managers of public
and private sectors for implementing the acts adopted by the Islamic
Republic of Iran respected Board of Ministers on observing the position
of Public Relations as the advisor and subclass of the highest official
in each organization;
3- Naming
one day as “International Public Relations Day” for valuation and
promoting the name and professional position of Public Relations;
4- Holding
further educational courses on Public Relations with the mutual
cooperation of local and international universities;
5- Granting
PR scholarship by local and international universities;
6-
Paving the way and facilities for Iran Public Relations Society
to be the member of International Public Relations Association;
7-
Publication of International Public Relations periodicals in
Iran;
8-
Establishing the permanent Secretariat for holding International
Conferences on Public Relations aimed at developing Public Relations
and following up the requests of Public Relations Society;
9-Developing and taking advantage of modern communication technology
specially electronic Public Relations by its professionals and
administrators;
10-
Establishing National Public Relations Research Center and
communicating with Public Relations Associations in international
levels;
11-
Revision and Re-engineering of Public Relations structure,
preparing comprehensive code and promoting organizational position of
Public Relations;
12-
Endeavor for increasing scientific skills of Public Relations
experts in the area of research, which is the main essence for Public
Relations;
13-
Making attempts for establishing, promoting and developing the
private institutes and associations of Public Relations in Iran;
14-
Efforts aimed at empirical and scientific explanation of Public
Relations important duties for the institutes and organizations managers
through holding seminars and training workshop and periodical discuss
meetings for the high ranking managers.
Hoping for
more unification and sympathy of the Public Relations people for
promoting Public Relations vocation in Iran.
